Without qualified tech experts, our industry wouldn't be what it is today. The men and women who make up the audio/visual tech field are the life-blood of our craft. At our AV electronics school in Baltimore, Maryland, we take a comprehensive approach to tech education. Beginning with basics in electronic principals, our audio and video technician training program is designed to help you learn the skills and techniques needed to compete in today's highly competitive AV industry.

From cable management to preventive maintenance, our AV electronics students can experience it all. Whether you want to be on the tech crew for a traveling band, work tech support for a television series or help local cable subscribers troubleshoot their systems, our audio and video technician training program can give you the skills and experience you need to contribute.

Upon completion of the program, you can be qualified to apply for entry-level employment in the fields of Systems Integration and Audio/Video Maintenance for one or more of the following positions:

  • Cable Installer
  • Audio Installation Technician
  • Video Installation Technician
  • AV Equipment Maintenance Technician

TechWorks Program Courses Include:

  • Electronics 1 – 52 hours
  • Electronics 2 – 60 hours
  • Cable Construction – 44 hours
  • Installation – 60 hours
  • Basic Audio/Preventive Maintenance – 52 hours
  • Basic Video/Preventive Maintenance – 48 hours
  • Crestron Externship - 40 hours

The TechWorks program consists of 165 hours of lectures and 219 hours of Labs/ Practicals, totaling 384 hours. The typical fulltime class is 4 days a week, 4 hour per day, 16 hours per week for 27 to 30 weeks; part time is 2 days a week, 4 hours per day, 8 hours per week for 50 to 53 weeks.

* 32 of the 40 hours of the Crestron Externship component will be taught off-campus at the Crestron Mid-Atlantic Headquaters in Columbia, MD. The Crestron Externship component requires 100% attendance in order to receive a passing grade.
