Working in the entertainment industry can be exciting and rewarding. Whether you want to work behind the scenes or in front of a microphone or camera, the education you receive at Sheffield can help you in this highly competitive industry.
Sheffield Recordings was established in 1968. In 1975, we began hosting audio workshops, and in 1995, we started the Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts. Since that time, we’ve expanded to a 20,000 square foot facility containing world-class audio and video facilities.
If you’re thinking about a career in audio, video, technology or broadcasting, we invite you to take a look at Sheffield. Here’s a little more about us:
The requirements for admission to Sheffield include a high school diploma or GED and you must complete an interview with a school official. Learn more about our admission requirements.
We offer day and evening classes, and you may choose to take courses full- or part-time to fit your schedule. Timetables for completion vary per course. Learn more about the course schedule.
We have chosen to forego the standard route of nationally accredited schools and remain state certified through the Maryland Higher Education Commission. For this reason, we are unable to receive any form of federal financial aid. However, there are several avenues of funding available to our students. Learn more about our financing options.
We offer 21 scholarships per year to students who choose to pursue an education at Sheffield. Learn more about the requirements and application process for a SIRA Scholarship.
