Jake Mossman Director - Basic Audio Technology, Advanced Audio, Advanced Audio Lab; MIDI, Non Linear Digital Audio Editing,Currently on the fulltime staff at Sheffield A/V as an Audio Engineer and Remote Truck EIC, Jake Mossman brings to the classroom a wealth of up-to-date information on emerging technologies. Before coming to Sheffield, Jake was an engineer at OZ Recording Studio in Baltimore. Jake has mixed live concert broadcasts for clients such as AOL and MTV2 and recorded a wide range of artists and events including Foo Fighters, Pixies, John Mayer, My Chemical Romance, Wynton Marsalis, Kelly Clarkson, Warped Tour, SXSW Festival and Snoop Dogg. Mixing credits include Pixies "Club Date" DVD, Lionel Ritchie live at New Orleans Jazz Fest for itunes, and the "Hopeville" DVD featuring Yolanda Adams and Kirk Franklin. His expertise includes analog and digital technologies and he shares his techniques with students primarily in the studio environment during labs.

 


 

Pat O'Hara TechWorks - Basic Properties of Electronics, Test Equipment and Signal Identification, Cable Construction, Installation, Basic Audio and Preventative Maintenance. Pat brings to Sheffield nearly thirty years experience in the field of electronics and the field of education. He began his career in the electronic surveillance arena with the Army Security Agency and earned medals for the caliber of his work. He furthered his electronics skills and worked inthe industry installing a multitude of systems for many years. His teaching experience began with the Arundel Instituteof Technology where he taught all aspects of electronics from basic electronics to preparing students to sit for the FCC license exam. He continued as an electronics Instructor for many years and advanced to the position of Assistant Director of Education for a private Technical College overseeing the day-to-day operation of the college and the many programs there.

 


 

Bob Aherns VideoWorks - Video Camera Technology/Lighting for TV and Video - Bob Aherns is a broadcast television veteran with over thirty years of production experience. Bob spent twenty five of those years with PBS, including twelve as the Chief of Motion Picture Production for Maryland Public Television. He has received numerous Emmy, Cine Golden Eagle and Telly Awards and has provided technical expertise for many productions in locations around the world.

 


 

Paul Sulsky VideoWorks - Basic Video Technology, Avid Xpress Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop Graphics, DVD Authoring. - One of only 16 Avid Certified Users world wide. Paul has over five years Avid editing experience. He has also written several scripts. His teaching credits include, the Workshops of Rockport College, GeniusDV in Orlando, Miami, Dallas and Atlanta and Henninger Media in Arlington. Credits include feature films, shorts and many actors demo reels. He also develops interactive web sites and can integrate backend databases to create complete enterprise solutions. His clients include medical facilities, small businesses, musicians, actors and production facilities.

 


 

Drew Mazurek AudioWorks - Basic Audio Technology, Advanced Audio, Pro Tools, MIDI, Advanced Audio Lab Drew is an experienced freelance engineer/producer/mixer who has also owned his own studio for 17 years. Drew brings "the real world" to SIRA students everyday. He has worked as an Engineer, Producer, and Mixer for many projects, including Linkin Park, H.I.M. , DJ Kool, GWAR, Nothingface, Dog Fashion Disco, Fu Manchu, Jawbox, Allman Brothers, Lyle Lovett, VH1, and MTV.

 


 

Glenn Workman AudioWorks - MIDI, Non Linear Digital Audio Editing. Glenn has 25 years experience with computer audio design and software. An early adopter of MIDI technology and Macintosh programming, he has provided product testing and consulting for many music software and equipment companies including MOTU, Kurzweil, Digidesign, Yamaha, Oberheim, Ensoniq, Kawai, and Lexicon. Clients for his troubleshooting, onsite consulting, system design, and synthesizer programming include the Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Lucasfilms, Universal Studios Orlando, and the Baltimore Symphony. As owner of Freq Sound Music Laboratory he writes and records music for film and television, and has been teaching at Sheffield since 1997. He has contributed to Electronic Musician Magazine as an author. A performing musician for over 35 years, he plays live with Crack The Sky, Expensive Hobby, Off The Wall, and Naked Blue, as well as being an active studio musician.

 


 

Jeff Byron AudioWorks - Live & Remote Sound Recording, Advanced Audio Lab. Jeff Byron has over thirty years of live sound and remote recording skills, working with artists such as Smokey Robinson, George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars, David Byrne, Nils Lofgren, Keith Urban, Will Ackerman, Rickie Lee Jones, Dianne Reeves, The English Beat and Donovan among others. As President and Chief Audio Engineer of Blue Sky Audio, Inc., Jeff also has an extensive background in corporate business management, providing consulting services for a multitude of private, public and corporate organizations. Jeff holds a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in the Visual and Performing Arts from the University of Maryland and a graduate degree (M.G.A.) from the University of Maryland University College Graduate School of Management and Technology.

 


 

Stacey Brown Careers in TV & Radio Broadcasting - Stacey Brown is an Executive Producer and On-Air Talent for CBS Radio Baltimore including WJZ FM 105.7 The Fan, WJZ AM 1300 ESPN Radio, WWMX Mix 106.5 and WLIF 101.9 Lite FM. She has worked with The Ed Norris Show, The Brian Wilson Show and is currently a part of The Mark Viviano Show and does sports updates on Baltimore's Sports Radio 105.7 The Fan. Stacey is also a host for CBS Radio's Sunday Morning. As a voice over artist, some of her clients include Premiere Radio Networks, the nationally syndicated Eve and Adam Show, Sirius XM, 104.9 The Beat Austin, TX, Wild 93.9 Lima, OH and 93.1 The Wolf Chesterfield, VA. Stacey started her broadcasting career as a VJ for Baltimore cable television show Rocklive and while on The Ed Norris Show, she was nominated for a national MADD Media Award for her reporting work on the dangers of drunk driving.

 


 

Maynard Edwards Careers in TV & Radio Broadcasting - A Baltimore native, Maynard Edwards has been a fixture of the local radio scene since 1994. Maynard began his career with the nationally recognized and award winning “Rouse & Company” Morning Show on the legendary WQSR, where he broadcast more than 5000 shows. In 2005, after a brief stint as the music director for “Jack FM” Maynard became the Co-Host and Executive Producer of the critically acclaimed and highly rated “Ed Norris Show” on 105.7-FM (CBS Radio, Baltimore). In 2010, Maynard left the Norris show and began writing and producing a show in cooperation with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the Smithsonian Folk Life Museum for WYPR-FM Baltimore called “Rock & Roll Archeology”, a weekly show dedicated to uncovering the mysteries of the Rock& Roll era through song and story. The show airs Saturday nights on WYPR and several other stations nationally. In March of 2011, Maynard began doing his own morning show on the KHZ Network, headquartered in Aberdeen MD. The show airs currently from 6am-9am on numerous affiliates all over Maryland including Baltimore, Easton, Annapolis and Washington DC. In April of 2011, Maynard returned to CBS radio where he currently can be heard weekends on MIX 106.5 and the new HFS at 97.5. Maynard is co-owner of AM Entertainment, a small company focusing on mobile entertainment needs and he is the leader of the popular local band “Collect All 5” which performs nearly 150 shows per year. Maynard lives with his family in Baltimore County.
